The woodgrain background was created by stamping the Simon Says Stamp Wood Planks Background on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock with SSS Dark Chocolate Ink. Distress Oxide Inks in Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso were blended over the stamping for a realistic woodgrain look.
Simon Says Stamp Sunflower Petals Dies were die cut from Arches Cold Press Watercolor Cardstock and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens in 026 Yellow Gold, 025 Light Orange, 020 Peach, and a water brush pen. The center of the flower was colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens in 899 Redwood, 969 Chocolate, 947 Burnt Sienna and a water brush pen.
The stem from the Simon Says Stamp Sunflower Stem Wafer Die was die cut from Arches Cold Press Watercolor Cardstock and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens in 158 Dark Olive, 126 Light Olive, and a water brush pen. Please note I only used the stem portion of this die and opted to build my own sunflower top.
The the petals were completely dry, they were scored with the Spellbinders Tool 'n One and folded up or folded down and adhered to the back of the sunflower center. This technique is similar to the one used for THESE die cut florals and also THESE.
The stem and sunflower were adhered to the woodgrain background as shown.
A butterfly from the Hero Arts Bouquet Accessories Fancy Dies was die cut from Arches Cold Press Watercolor Cardstock and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens in 569 Jet Blue, 533 Peacock Blue, 603 Periwinkle, N35 Cool Gray 12, and a water brush pen. When dry, the butterfly was adhered to the flower as shown.
The Simon Says Stamp Big Friend Dies was die cut from Lawn Fawn Gold Metallic Cardstock and smooth white cardstock, adhered as shown, and adhered to the card base. A phrase from the Simon Says Stamp Greetings Mix 2 Stamp Set was stamped on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
For the envelope, the Simon Says Stamp Sunflower Background was stamped on the front of a SSS A2 Lemon Chiffon Envelope with SSS Duckling Ink. A phrase from the Simon Says Stamp Sassy Flaps Stamp Set was stamped on the back flap.
