Hello friends! I'm thrilled to be sharing a comparison of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Tombow Dual Brush Pens featuring the Simon Says Stamp April 2021 Card Kit, Friendly Flowers. While the markers are both water based and perform similarly, the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers really perform best on Bristol Smooth Cardstock only (at least in my experience) and the Tombows will work on Bristol Smooth Cardstock but I absolutely love using them with watercolor cardstock like the Arches Cold Press Watercolor Cardstock. The Spellbinders Essential Duo Lines Rectangle Glimmer Plates was foiled onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Spellbinder Polished Brass Foil. The panel was die cut with the largest Spellbinders Essential Rectangles Etched Die.
The image from the Simon Says Stamp Friendly Flowers Stamp Set was stamped on the panel with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with Cream Embossing Powder and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen:
- Yellow berries: Bright Yellow, Pale Yellow, Geranium Red
- Aqua leaves: Turquoise Green, Pale Green
- Green leaves: Deep Green, Light Green, Yellow Green
- Purple flowers: Geranium Red, Pale Orange
- Lilies: Light Violet, Pale Yellow
A light wash of Pale Green was applied around the image to help it stand out from the background.
A sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Friendly Flowers Stamp Set was stamped on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
The design was finished with a scattering of Trinity Stamps Hint of Mint heart embellishments.
