YouTube LIVE: Alcohol Inks Backgrounds Holiday Cards

Happy Saturday, friends! Yesterday I went live over on YouTube with these alcohol inks holiday backgrounds cards. All of the cards were made with alcohol inks on Yupo Paper and the cover plates are all from hero Arts. Background Lift Ink techniques were created with Simon Says Stamp backgrounds.

Alcohol inks in Tim Holtz Poppyfiled Alcohol Ink, Tim Holtz Gumball Alcohol Ink, and Pinata Brass were applied to Yupo Paper. The inks were moved with Blending Solution and a Blower.

When dry the background was trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

The Simon Says Stamp Reindeer Background was stamped over the background with Alcohol Lift Ink and buffed as shown in the video.

The Hero Arts Christmas Cover Plate was die cut from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock and adhered over the background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Retro Deer was die cut from smooth white cardstock and colored in with E50, E55, and E57 Copic Markers. The reindeer was adhered to the background as shown. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Red Berry was applied to the nose.

A Simon Says Stamp Reverse From All of Us Christmas Sentiment Strips was adhered along the bottom of the panel as shown.

The card was finished with a scattering of gold star confetti and snowflakes.

Alcohol inks in Tim Holtz Mojito Alcohol Ink, Tim Holtz Lettuce Alcohol Ink, and Pinata Brass were applied to Yupo Paper. The inks were moved with Blending Solution and a Blower.

The Simon Says Stamp Trees Background was stamped over the background with Alcohol Lift Ink and buffed as shown in the video.

The Hero Arts Happy Holidays Cover Plate was die cut from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock and adhered over the background as shown.

A Simon Says Stamp Reverse From All of Us Christmas Sentiment Strips was adhered along the bottom of the panel as shown.

The card was finished with a scattering of gold star confetti and a heart accent.

Alcohol inks in Tim Holtz Glacier Alcohol Ink, Tim Holtz Pool Alcohol Ink, Tim Holtz Purple Twilight Alcohol Ink, and Pinata Brass were applied to Yupo Paper. The inks were moved with Blending Solution and a Blower.

When dry the backgrounds were trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

The Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflakes Background was stamped over the background with Alcohol Lift Ink and buffed as shown in the video.

The Hero Arts Christmas Cover Plate was die cut from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock and adhered over one of the backgrounds as shown.

The Hero Arts Nativity Cover Plate was die cut from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock and adhered over one of the backgrounds as shown.

A Simon Says Stamp Slimline Snowbanks die was die cut from SSS Silver Holographic Cardstock and adhered to the design as shown.

 

A Simon Says Stamp Reverse From All of Us Christmas Sentiment Strips were foiled with Prince Periwinkle DecoFoil, trimmed into strips and adhered along to the panel as shown.

The cards were finished with a scattering of gold star confetti, snowflakes, and/or heart accents.

Currently I am doing a Friday morning Lives at 9 am CT. Replays will be on my YouTube Channel.

I have a few requests to edit the Lives. Currently I am not going to edit them. This is for a couple of reasons:

1) Lives are new to me and we are going to stick with this format for a bit. I personally love Lives. I haven't watched an edited Live so I reserve the right to reconsider in the future if I think it's something I can fit in my schedule.

2) I don't want to spend the precious hours I have for creating new content, editing a Live. I will be bringing the exact same amount of traditional content and videos to my channel. Lives/replays are in addition to that content.

Welcome to Day 1 of my Handmade Holiday 2021 Series!

I'm back with my eighth year of handmade holiday ideas!

• Backer (6 die cut from SSS Slate Cardstock using the solid Mama Elephant Hexatags die.)
• Background (6 die cut from smooth white cardstock using the solid Mama Elephant Hexatags die.)
• Acetate Window (6 die cut from smooth white cardstock using the solid Mama Elephant Hexatags die.)
• Red Snowflake Frame (3 die cut from LF Chili Pepper Cardstock using the solid Mama Elephant Hexatags die and snowflake insert.)
• Scene Tag (3 die cut from smooth white cardstock using the snow bank Mama Elephant Hexatags die.)

 

 

For the gnomes scene tag the Mama Elephant Oh Gnomie Tree Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with LF Jet Black Ink and colored in with the following Copic Markers:

The images were die cut with the coordinating Mama Elephant Oh Gnomie Tree Dies.

On the Mama Elephant Hexatags white backing, Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink was softly applied to the tag for a soft blue sky.

On the die cut scene front, greetings from the Mama Elephant Holiday Messages Stamp Set were stamped with LF Lobster Ink and SSS Smoke Ink.

The SSS Slate Cardstock hexatag backer was stamped with greetings from the Mama Elephant Mixed Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and Mama Elephant Holiday Messages Stamp Set were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing ink.

The shaker tag was assembled as shown in the video and finished with Red Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Twine. A heart accent was used to embellish the tag.

For the penguins snowflakes tags the Mama Elephant Penguins Go Shaking Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with LF Jet Black Ink and colored in with the following Copic Markers:

• Penguins: W3, W6, W8, R00, E000, E00, YR04, G24, G28, R24, R46, R59

The images were die cut with the coordinating Mama Elephant Penguins Go Skating Dies.

The SSS Slate Cardstock hexatag backer was stamped with greetings from the Mama Elephant Mixed Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and Mama Elephant Holiday Messages Stamp Set were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing ink.

The shaker tag was assembled as shown in the video and finished with Black Lawn Trimmings Twine. A penguin was adhered to the center of the snowflake and a heart accent was used to embellish the tag.

Framed Up Cozy Wishes Card (Simon Says Stamp)

A Scandi Christmas Patterned Paper from the kit was trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The Simon Says Stamp Silver Mirror Cardstock from the kit was die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Laurel Leaves Background Die and adhered over the patterned paper.

The stamped and colored Cozy Wishes Stamp Set images were die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Cozy Wishes Dies and adhered to the background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Thanks Sentiment Strips were foiled with Glass Slipper DecoFoil, trimmed into strips, and adhered to the background with foam adhesive as shown. 

The card was finished with a scattering of stars and hearts embellishments. Glossy Accents was applied to the "glass" of the lantern to finish the card.

Sweet Treats Shaker Card (Mama Elephant)

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I am sharing this sweet treat shaker card featuring new products from the Mama Elephant October 2021 Release! This sweet shaker card is sure to bring a smile to anyone's day!

Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron, Kitsch Flamingo, and Salvaged Patina were blended on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" background, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer, and then stenciled with the Waffle Flower Slimline Cloud Stencil using white pigment ink.

The Mama Elephant Mega Snowflake Cover Creative Cuts was die cut from smooth white cardstock and adhered over a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of acetate using 1/8" double sided adhesive.

A sentiment from the Mama Elephant Sweet Treats Stamp Set was stamped on the acetate with Cotton White StazOn Ink. Foam adhesive was placed around the frame, the shaker was filled with Sprinkles Unicorn Crush Confetti, and the inked shaker was adhered to the back as shown.

Images from Mama Elephant Sweet Treats Stamp Set and Mama Elephant Hot Cocoa Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink and colored in with the following Copic Markers:

• Monkey w/ cookies: E40, E43, E44, E47, R00, E55, E57, E59
• Unicorn with glass filled with candy: W00, W1, W3, W6, R00, BG10, BG13, RV10, RV13, R24, R46, YG21, YG17, BV11, BV13
• Kitty and marshmallows: W1, W3, W6, W8, R00
• Strawberries: YG21, YG17, R24, R46
• Lollipops: BV11, BV13, RV10, RV13, R24, R46, E55, E57

The images were die cut with the coordinating Mama Elephant Sweet Treats Creative Cuts Dies and Mama Elephant Hot Cocoa Creative Cuts Dies. The images were adhered to the shaker window along the cloud border as shown.

Nuvo Crystal Drops and Glossy Accents were applied to some of the images.

A greeting from the Mama Elephant Everything Nice Stamp Set was stamped with Twisted Citron, Kitsch Flamingo, and Salvaged Patina, die cut with the coordinating Mama Elephant Everything Nice Creative Cuts Dies, and adhered to the shaker window as shown.

The card was finished with a scattering of heart accents.

YouTube LIVE: Holiday Berries & Leaves Card + GIVEAWAY

Happy weekend, stampers! Yesterday I went live on YouTube with this stenciled, stamped, and die cut holly and berries card! The background features the Simon Says Stamp Berries & Leaves Stencil and my favorite MFT Stamps Christmas text background. The sentiment and garland are from Lawn Fawn with the new Garland Dies and Giant Holiday Messages Stamp/Die Set!

HOLLY & BERRIES HOLIDAY CARD

The Lawn Fawn Fog Cardstock background was stenciled with the Simon Says Stamp Berries & Leaves Stencil using SSS Jellybean Ink, SSS Green Leaf Ink, and Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink. An Altenew Detail Blending Brush was used to add the red ink to the small berry detail. These brushes are perfect for the smallest spaces and I love them! 

The MFT Stamps Christmas Background was stamped over the stenciling with Hero Arts Unicorn Ink.

A greeting from the Lawn Fawn Giant Holiday Messages Stamp/Die Set was stamped on LF Black Licorice Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The outline letters and leaves were colored with Polychromos Colored Pencils in the following colors:

• White
• Medium Cadmium Red
• May Green
• Permanent Green Olive

The sentiment was die cut with the coordinating scalloped oval die and adhered to the background with foam adhesive. Details were added to the background with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ruby Slippers.

The Lawn Fawn Garland Dies were die cut from LF Chili Pepper Cardstock, LF Cilantro Cardstock, and LF Noble Fir Cardstock. The images were shaded with the following Copic Markers:

• Dark Green Garland: G24, G28
• Light Green Garland: YG21, YG17
• Bows: R46, R59

The images were adhered to the top and bottom of the oval as shown. The berries were embellished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ruby Slippers. The bows were embellished with red heart accents.

1) Lives are new to me and we are going to stick with this format for a bit. I personally love Lives. I haven't watched an edited Live so I reserve the right to reconsider in the future if I think it's something I can fit in my schedule.

2) I don't want to spend the precious hours I have for creating new content, editing a Live. I will be bringing the exact same amount of traditional content and videos to my channel. Lives/replays are in addition to that content.

The background was inked with Distress Oxide Inks in Villainous Potion, Prize Ribbon, and Salvaged Patina. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer. 

The Waffle Flower Slimline Cloud Stencil was stenciled over the Distress Oxide Ink with Hero Arts Unicorn Ink.

A sentiment from the C3 Star Is Born Stamp Set was stamped on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. 

An image from the C3 Twinkle Little Star Stamp Set was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jellyfish Ink and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

• Mouse: Mid Brown, Beige, Medium Beige, Pale Pink
• Star: Mustard, Pale Yellow

The image was die cut with the C3 Twinkle Little Star Dies. Stars from the stamp set were stamped on Lawn Fawn Pealescent Vellum with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being die cut with the coordinating dies. The vellum stars were run through a Xyron Sticker Maker and adhered to the background.

The card was finished with a scattering of stars and hearts embellishments.

Christmas Station Wagon Card and Tags (Simon Says Stamp Making the Cut)

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm back with the October 2021 Simon Says Stamp Making the Cut card and tags featuring fun new products from the SSS Peace On Earth Release! I love this darling Vintage Christmas Station Wagon is great for all kinds of paper crafting projects. I always love to make my own gift tags for the holidays and these station wagon tags are sure to be fan favorites!

CHRISTMAS STATION WAGON CARD AND TAGS

For the backgrounds, a Khaki cardstock panel was trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4" and the Simon Says Stamp Nested Tags were die cut from khaki cardstock. The background and tags were stamped with the Ink Blot Shop Micro Gingham Background and white pigment ink.

For the card, the Simon Says Stamp Joyous Christmas was die cut from smooth white cardstock and black cardstock. The greeting was adhered to the card background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Vintage Christmas Station Wagon was die cut from LF Chili Pepper Cardstock, LF Noble Fir Cardstock, LF Pearlescent Vellum, LF Black Licorice Cardstock, SSS Silver Mirror Cardstock, and smooth white cardstock. The car was assembled and adhered to the card panel and tags as shown.

Greetings from the Simon Says Stamp XL Christmas Greetings Set were stamped on LF Chili Pepper Cardstock and LF Black Licorice Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greetings were die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card and tags.

The Simon Says Stamp Nested Tags was also die cut from LF Chili Pepper Cardstock and sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Let's Make A Tag Stamp Set were stamped on the tag back with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The tags were adhered back to back, finished with die cut hole reinforcers and Lawn Trimmings twine was added to each tag.

The card and tags were finished with snowflake embellishments and star confetti.

Simon Says Stamp Harmony Snowflakes and Simon Says Stamp Aurora Snowflake were die cut from SSS Holographic Cardstock and Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock and adhered to the background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright greeting was die cut from SSS Slate Cardstock and smooth white cardstock. The greetings were adhered to the background as shown.

Simon Says Stamp From Me Christmas Sentiment Strips and Simon Says Stamp Reverse From Me Christmas Sentiment Strips were foiled with Prince Periwinkle DecoFoil. The strips were trimmed and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

The design was finished with a scattering of gems, hearts, and star confetti.

Simon Says Stamp Harmony Snowflakes and Simon Says Stamp Aurora Snowflake were die cut from SSS Holographic Cardstock and Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock and adhered to the background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Large Joy greeting was die cut from SSS Slate Cardstock and smooth white cardstock. The greetings were adhered to the background as shown.

Simon Says Stamp Harmony Snowflakes and Simon Says Stamp Aurora Snowflake were die cut from SSS Holographic Cardstock and Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock and adhered to the background as shown.

The Simon Says Stamp Large Rejoice greeting was die cut from SSS Slate Cardstock and smooth white cardstock. The greetings were adhered to the background as shown.

Simon Says Stamp From Me Christmas Sentiment Strips and Simon Says Stamp Reverse From Me Christmas Sentiment Strips were foiled with Prince Periwinkle DecoFoil. The strips were trimmed and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

The design was finished with a scattering of gems, hearts, and star confetti.
