Welcome to Day 1 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2017 Series!
I'm back with my fourth year of last minute handmade ideas! Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to add handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing mostly quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created six gift card holder cards)!
Each Handmade Holiday project blog post will feature a brand new, never before seen project(s) plus an incredible giveaway from a generous sponsor!
SNOWMAN HOLIDAY COFFEE CUP GIFT CARD HOLDER SHAPED CARDS
First, I have to say that the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Card Gift Holder Dies is one of my favorite dies sets released this year! Not only does it make exceptional holiday gift card holders but you can create coffee cup gift card holders for any season or occasion just by changing up what you use to decorate the front and the switch up the greetings! I can't get enough of these! I did create some additional holiday-themed ones HERE and I will also be sharing more ideas going forward in the new year for other occasions!
To start, I die cut all the coffee card bases from Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Collection Pack using the Spellbinders Platinum 8.5" Platform Machine. You guys..... it cuts like butter! So amazing! And the larger platform size just makes it so easy! The coffee cup band was die cut from vellum and secured with 1/8" Scor Tape. The band is what holds the gift card inside the card without adhesive! Ingenious!
The lids of each cup were cut from Neenah Heavyweight Cardstock (I cut 12 total, 1 for the front, 1 for the back of each card). On the front of each I used the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to perfectly stamp the greeting from the My Favorite Things Coffee Break Stamp Set on each cup lid with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
On the inside of each card I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder or stamped with black ink (depending on the color of patterned paper inside) a greeting from the Essentials By Ellen Holly Jolly Stamp Set.
I assembled each snowman on the each coffee cup band, making sure no adhesive was on the backs of anything hanging over the edges of the band (that would stick to the card and make removing the band difficult).
Glossy Accents was added to the eyes and berries of the snowmen to complete the design!
You just pop a gift card into each, sign your name, and done!

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn October Inspiration Week! Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Tiny Tags Sayings Stamp Set and coordinating dies. Not only are these tiny tags awesome all on their own (wouldn't they be awesome tied to gift packages?!!!) but they also can be used on cards and other projects so easily because their size is so tiny and cute! I grouped four tiny tags on this card showcasing reindeer from the Toboggan Together and Cheery Christmas stamp sets and also used Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter patterned papers and cardstocks for this sweet non-traditional colors Christmas card.
I stamped the deer, string of lights, and santa hat from Toboggan Together and Cheery Christmas on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. I stamped the thought bubble and oranments from Cheery Christmas using black ink, Lawn Fawn Mermaid Ink, and Narwhal Ink and then die cut all the images with the coordinating Cheery Christmas and Toboggan Together dies. I added detail to the eyes and noses with a black glaze pen and glitter accents to the lights and ornaments with the stardust glitter pen.

Today I'm sharing a set of embossed resist Distress Ink Prayers greeting cards. These cards were created for the Lasting Hearts Card Drive. You can read all about the card drive HERE. I hope that if you can, you will help out this wonderful cause. Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts have brought back the amazing Prayers Stamp and Die Set from the STAMPtember event. It's on reserve right now and should be back in stock by February 12th if you were still wanting to pick up this set. Even better? 25% of profits goes to Lasting Hearts!
I created this quick and easy set of cards using some embossing on watercolor cardstock with some of my favorite Distress Inks applied over the embossed greetings and images.
On each panel, I applied three colors of Distress ink, blending each for a seamless ombre look. The colors I used are shown below each of the following photos:
I spritzed each panel with water from the Distress Sprayer. I let the water sit for 30 seconds on each panel and blotted the water with a paper towel. I made sure and buffed any excess ink off the embossing with the paper towel as well.
Once the panels were completely dry and attached each panel to 4 Bar Note Cards.

The Blessed Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp is not new but it's been resonating with me lately. If you're a christian and love sending christian words of hope to friends and family this is a great set for you. I combined greetings from the Blessed Stamp Set with the Altenew Vintage Flowers Stamps and coordinating Vintage Flowers Dies. These florals work with almost any greeting stamps and aren't limited to one occasion.
This card is for my sweet sister in law who inspires me with her inspiring blog, Lord It's Me Again, her knowledge of the scripture and willingness to share. She is a blessing to me and her almost daily texts make each difficult day a little easier.
The flowers and leaves from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Stamps were stamped on smooth white cardstock using a combination of purple inks and green inks, layered to create the beautiful layered designs shown here. I love how detailed the flowers look with multiple inked layers. The flowers were die cut with the coordinating Vintage Flowers Dies.
The greetings from the Blessed Stamp Set was stamped on the inside rectangle using Black Ink. The florals were assembled as shown and the card finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
