The die was cut from Masking Paper and adhered over the books before the background was stamped with the Novel Prose Bold Print and Pool Party Ink. The edges were slightly inked with the same color of ink and a blending brush for a softer look.
A sentiment from the Literally The Best Stamp Set was colored with Tombow Dual Brush Markers, misted with water from a Mini Mister, and stamped on another panel of watercolor cardstock. I love this technique for a multi-colored sentiment or background.
The Book Window Fancy Die was adhered over the sentiment panel with foam adhesive and finished with a scattering of mini hearts before being adhered to a white side fold card base.

Hello friends! Today I am thrilled to be joining Altenew Paint-A-Flower Carnations Release Blog Hop! You should be arriving from Kelly Griglione blog. For my cards today I am sharing a fun no masking technique of coloring over ink smooshing with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! This technique lends itself to beautiful results. Finishing touches of a foiled gold frame, gold embossed greeting, embossed sentiment strip, and heart accent complete this beautiful card. Let's get started!

THE BACKGROUND
I wanted my finished card to have an elegant glimmered foil frame. I am addicted to foiling and have been adding it to many, many cards lately! To do this, it needs to be the first step otherwise the foil can reheat the embossing and stick to the embossed areas which doesn't look great if that's not the look you want! (Ask me how I know! ha!)
Next, I stamped the Paint-A-Flower Carnations image around the perimeter of the panel with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I used Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks watered down with a spritz of water and leftover plastic packaging to "ink smoosh" the background. I love the imperfect watercolored effect this creates. It's one of my favorite techniques for backgrounds as it looks amazing!
I used the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in the flowers:
Once the background is completely dry I stamped "Congratulations" from the Paint-A-Flower Carnations Stamp Set on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
Another phrase from the stamp set was stamped on Hero Arts Palm Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting was die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Nested Banners Die and adhered to the background with foam adhesive.
A small heart accent was adhered under the greetings and the panel was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.

Both card bases were created exactly the same. Each card requires a Letterboard Combo Creative Cuts Dies front and back, a frame, a contrasting insert, and a connector. Be sure to watch the video to see how easy these are to put together.

Theses Geometrical Floral Frames pair perfectly with many of Spellbinders glimmered sentiments, including the June 2020 Glimmer of the Month, Let Your Sentiments Shine. Theses frames would also be awesome with many different stamped sentiments. The possibilities are endless. I opted to create two "congrats" style cards pairing the Geometrical Floral Frames dies with a Let Your Sentiments Shine foiled greeting.
Flowers and leaves from the Geometrical Floral Frames were die cut from the following cardstock colors and colored with the following Copic Marker color combinations:
The flowers and leaves were adhered to the geometrical frames as shown and embellished with Gold Fashion Embellishments.

Today I'm sharing this set of four inked, stenciled, stamped, and die cut cards featuring lots of new Sunny Days Ahead products as well as some of my previously released favs. I love mixing and matching newer and older product. I am also sharing some tricks and tips for masking stencils in the video. I love this effect!

Leaving that stencil in place, I next used Pixie Spray on the back of the brand new Rose Trio Stencil to hold it in place and inked the roses with Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Sunshine inks and the leaves with Scuba and High Dive inks. I decided not to mask the images and let a bit of the green "bleed" into the roses for a super soft look. Since I already was inking the yellow over the lightly inked aqua background this worked for these cards.
For the mom cards, I die cut the Outline Mom outline and die from each background. I also die cut the outline from smooth white cardstock twice and die cut the mom from Lawn Fawn Rainforest Cardstock. I inlaid and paper pieced the greetings on each background as shown. I love this technique of making a large die cut sentiment part of the background design.

The background was created by stamping the new Greenhouse Peek-a-Boo Cling on smooth white cardstock with the Hero Arts Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Hero Hues Green Apple and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks were applied to the center of the panel but not all the way to the edge. Excess ink was removed from the embossed areas with a dry rag.
Sentiments from the Florals Lavender Bunch Stamp Set were stamped on Pitch Black Cardstock with Hero Arts Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiments were trimmed into strips and adhered to the card background with foam adhesive. The watering can and tulips were glued in place and Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew were applied to the finished panel for dew drops.
This card features lots of Hero Hues cardstock die cut with and then stamped with the new No Trespassing Stamp & Cut Set. The new Square Infinity Dies were also used to fill in some of the spaces! Love having squares in all the sizes!!!
