I finished up a last minute home decor project this afternoon. I had completely forgotten these frames in my kitchen (one of those things that is overlooked in the craziness of the season...) and I wanted to share the fun Kerri Bradford Studio art I printed on Silhouette Cotton Canvas to put inside.

These framed prints would also make great little hostess gifts if you're visiting friends or family for the holidays and need a last minute gift. Just grab a frame, print one of Kerri's designs and pop it inside.These took me less than 10 minutes to make!

I printed one of Kerri's Elf Culture designs at 8x10 on Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas and popped it in the larger frame. Elf is one of our family's most favorite holiday movies so this quote is especially fun for us! It makes us all smile.

 

In the 4x6 frame I printed one of the quotes from the Hello December Kit on the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas. I printed the flag banners from the December Additions: The Extras at about 1.5" tall and cut them apart. I punched holes in the top two corners, thread red & white baker's twine through and "hung" them along the top of the frame. Fun, fun! 

p.s. I'm addicted to the Cosmo Cricket Toppers for wide mouth canning jars. Some yummy Christmas treats in a jar with a fun topper makes for a festive and fun kichen counter!

KBS | Halloween Canvas Print and Cut Framed Word Art

Happy Halloween! 

Today, I have a quick last minute Halloween decor project for you. I love the look of canvas word art in frames (you may remember THESE Christmas themed ones I did last December) so I grabbed some Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas and Kerri's latest Something Wicked Kit and quickly added a fun personalized touched to our Halloween Decor.

This first print is my fav. So funny. So true! ;) I resized the design to 8x10" without contraining proportions and it didn't really distort the design (or at least no enough to bother me). I popped it into a weathered wood frame I already had on hand and voila! this sofa table in our family room was complete!

I think you can maybe see the texture of the canvas paper a bit in this closer shot. I love the texture the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas gives this project. Regular cardstock or Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper LUSTER* works too but if you really want an art print type of feel I highly recommend the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas. 

*I've used Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper LUSTER (my favorite photo paper) for prints too and loved the results. You can see some holiday art prints I did HERE.

I even added a couple of art prints in my kitchen. I have a small counter just to the left of my stove where I like to keep a seaonsal framed print. These two prints (and their scary friend) perfectly add a spooky touch to the busiest room in the house!

The largest print is again 8x10". For this one I didn't want to lose that circular shape in the middle so I simple did a crop of the orginal design before printing.

 For the "Bones" print I cropped the original design to 4x6" (I lost the border on the original design and then popped it into the matching smaller frame. 

p.s. I found both of these awesome wood plank-style frames at Wal-Mart! I sort of have a thing for weathered wood looking frames and these were cheap! Whoot!

KBS | Canvas Print Home Decor

Hello!

A few weeks ago I printed a bunch of Kerri's printables onto photo paper and put them in frames gearing up for the Holiday Season. You can check out the results HERE. I loved how they turned out and thought I'd make a couple more everyday themed ones that I could use myself or frame and give for gifts for the holidays. As I was thumbing through my desk drawer for more photo paper I came across an old package of Creative Imaginations Scrapper's Canvas and it dawned on me that Kerri's designs would look amazing as canvas prints! So..... I printed a couple of them on canvas and I was HOOKED. They look amazing. The texture gives the prints that added somethin' somethin' that makes them perfect not only to decorate my own home but to frame up and give to my friends and loved ones this Christmas!

First up, here is a peek at Kerri's latest kit, HoHoHo. I framed this one in a big gallery frame I had on hand. The print size itself is 8x10. I chose the grungy grayish black background because I thought it coordinated with my frame/decor the best but I love all the color combinations this comes in! (And I must may have to print and frame the rest of the phrases in that come in this kit as well!!!)

Now how about something the recipient could use all year long?

I framed this and set it up right in the kitchen where we see it everyday. A great reminder to never doubt yourself, to give it your all and to always believe.

And this one is framed in our family room amidst framed photographs and it makes me happy. It perfectly compliments our wall of family photos/memories!

Yesterday, I shared some photos that I digitally added borders and text to HERE and today I wanted to share another type of digital project that I love: print and cuts created with my Silhouette. Whether you use "as is" or create your own custom print & cuts this is another digital product that really floats my boat!

I created all of these tags using Kerri Bradford digital files and a cut files. These would be perfect for December Daily, Project Life, place on a card with a few small embellishments to send in the mail, use as gift tags on presents or even to add to a layout.

 

I used 3 of the 4 coordinating cut files to cut out my printed designs: the rectangle, the scalloped rectangle and hang tag. I added a few small embellishments to mine (gems, baker's twine, etc.) and they are ready to be used!

And how about printing them bigger to fit inside picture frames to create a collage of wall art for the holidays? This is the easiest home decor project. Ever. I printed out a bunch in standard frame sizes: 8x10, 5x7 and 4x6 and placed them in frames that I already had on hand. Nothing tricky here. ;) I love how they all look grouped together like this!

*note* I did a little extra work to the framed print of Santa. Instead of just resizing and printing like I did for the others, I used four shapes for this one combining the santa background, "dear santa", define good" and postmark for a custom framed design. 

The possibilities are endless!

Digital Scrapbooking Day - November 2, 2013

Happy Friday everyone! 

I'm popping in here today to talk a little bit about digital scrapping.

I know, I know... you guys are probably saying, "What?!!!" Nichol doesn't do digi scrapping!

But I'm here to tell you that even though I use physical products on my pages, there are elements on just about every page I create that were created digitally!

I love photo templates and I put those together in Photoshop.

(A few recent examples of my love of photo templates: Spooky Haunted House layout, Sweet Memories layout, All Hallows Eve layout and Let Freedom Ring layout.

I love adding digital overlays and text to my photo (or photo collages!):

I used the stroke tool in Photoshop to create the border around my photo and then added the text using Kerri Bradford Studio Shapes! Many of Kerri's designs work for both die cutting or digi scrapping!
