Currently I am doing a Friday morning Lives at 9 am CT. Replays will be on my YouTube Channel.
I have a few requests to edit the Lives. Currently I am not going to edit them. This is for a couple of reasons:
1) Lives are new to me and we are going to stick with this format for a bit. I personally love Lives. I haven't watched an edited Live so I reserve the right to reconsider in the future if I think it's something I can fit in my schedule.
2) I don't want to spend the precious hours I have for creating new content, editing a Live. I will be bringing the exact same amount of traditional content and videos to my channel. Lives/replays are in addition to that content.
If you want to join us for some real-time crafty fun each week I would love to "see" you there. Please make sure to SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube Channel and click the notification bell so that YouTube alerts you when I'm going live. I am trying to reach 100,000 subscribers so if you haven't subscribed yet I would SO appreciate it! I am grateful for my community on all the platforms!
Thanks to everyone who joined me today! I had a blast visiting with everyone. ❤️

Happy Friday! Earlier this month when I was sharing some cards featuring the Simon Says Stamp Let's Connect Release products I asked what you wanted to see used from the release and the overwhelming winner was the Crackle Background (and Reverse Crackle Background) so today I'm sharing my take on ink smooshing over a stamped and embossed crackle background and y'all.... it might just be my favorite way to use this background. Seriously. The results are so, so good! In addition to the ink smooshing I used the Summer Roses Gina K Exclusive for Simon Says Stamp. Let's get started!

THE BACKGROUND
The Crackle Background was stamped on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Speckled Egg, Antique Linen, and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Inks were pressed into a glass mat work surface, spritzed with only 1 - 2 times with water and picked up with leftover stamp packaging before being "smooshed" into the background.I love how this gives a more organic, imperfect look than ink blending. The embossed areas resist the ink making this the perfect crackle background! What colors would you use? The possibilities are endless and I can't wait to try this with all my favorite Distress Ink color combos!
When the background is dry, I die cut it with an A2 Thin Frames Die and discarded the thin frame. I also die cut the thin frame from Polished Gold Mirror Cardstock. The outer frame, gold thin frame, and center panel were then adhered to a white top fold card base.

July 2020 Card Kit of the Month (10 cards) Coming Soon
Happy Saturday! Today I'm sharing a short and long slimline home sweet home card featuring the July 2020 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, Home Sweet Home. The fantastic long image from the Home Sweet Home stamp set lends itself perfectly to a long skinny card. I'm sharing how I stamped these images and colored them in with Copic Markers in my video tutorial. As always, finishing details are key. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Bilzzard, Glossy Accents, and a white pen. Let's get started!

Images from the Home Sweet Home stamp set were stamped on the panel with Hero Arts Intens-ified Ink. A bit of simple masking was done for a couple of the images but it was minimal. The masks were removed and some tape was used to mask off the four sides of the panel from the stitching line out. This is one of my favorite hacks to make a one layer card appear to be "layered" on another piece of cardstock.
The images and background were colored in with the following Copic Marker color combinations:
The masking tape was removed once the coloring was finished.
A greeting from the Home Sweet Home stamp set was stamped in the lower right cover of the finished card with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Glossy Accents was added to the sun, windows, clock, airplane wheel, and heart. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard was added to the clouds. White pen detail was added throughout the design.
A card base was created from the Smoke Cardstock included in the kit. The cardstock was trimmed to 7" x 8 1/2" and scored along the 7" side at 3 1/2". The stamped and colored panel was adhered to the front of the card.
An additional sentiment from the Home Sweet Home stamp set was stamped inside the card with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder to finish the design.
