Happy new week, friends! The July 2021 Simon Says Stamp card kit, Garden Greetings, is here!!!! Today I'm sharing this embossed background inked with SSS Fog Gray ink while embossed and then the raised areas colored in with Copic Markers. This is a similar technique to the embossed cards I shared with the new Rainbows Release, only those were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Check out those cards HERE. I love this technique!
The patterned papers, cardstocks, stamped greeting, die cut greeting, embossing folder, envelope, and adhesive for this beauty all come from the kit!!!

Neenah White Cardstock from the kit was trimmed to 3 3/4" x 5". The Simon Says Stamp Blossom Field Embossing Folder was inked with SSS Fog Gray ink, the paper placed in the embossing folder, and run through a die cutting machine using the embossing sandwich. This give the solid areas of the background a bit of color. For a more dramatic look, use a darker ink color!
The raised areas of the design were colored with the following Copic Marker color combinations:
Yellow Flowers: Y000, Y02, Y15, Y38
Purple Flowers & Buds: BV31, BV34
Leaves and Stems: G20, G24, G28
Other Leaves: YG93, YG97
The text design Paper Rose Forever 6x6 Paper was trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhered to a white top fold card base. The embossed and colored panel was adhered to the center of the text paper.

A Doodlebug Custom Rainbow 2021 6x6 inch papers was trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhered to a white top fold card base. The stenciled panel was adhered to the center of the patterned paper.
A phrase from the Sassy Flaps Stamp Set was stamped on the back flap of the envelope with the same ink colors.

The "mom" Simon Says Stamp Mom & Dad Die was die cut from Thermoweb Toner Cardstock and foiled with Gold Foil (kit). The shadow for the sentiment was die cut from white cardstock (kit). The foiled sentiment was adhered to the white shadow and adhered to the background as shown.
Butterflies from the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet For Mom Stamp/Die Set were stamped on vellum with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The butterflies were run through a Xyron Sticker Maker and placed on the background.

Hello friends! I'm thrilled to be sharing a comparison of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Tombow Dual Brush Pens featuring the Simon Says Stamp April 2021 Card Kit, Friendly Flowers. While the markers are both water based and perform similarly, the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers really perform best on Bristol Smooth Cardstock only (at least in my experience) and the Tombows will work on Bristol Smooth Cardstock but I absolutely love using them with watercolor cardstock like the Arches Cold Press Watercolor Cardstock. I really enjoyed watercoloring these deigns and I hope you enjoy the projects and video! Let's get started!

The Simon Says Stamp Gnomie Home Die was die cut from Arches Cold Press Cardstock. and watercolored with a water brush pen and Tombow Dual Brush Pens in 845 Carmine, 803 Pink Punch, 757 Port Red, 025 Light Orange, 020 Peach, 946 Gold Ochre, 947 Burnt Sienna, and 969 Chocolate. The mushroom house was adhered to the panel as shown and stamped and embossed with "welcome" from the SSS Welcoming Stamp Set.
