Today I'm revisiting a fun technique I haven't done for awhile, watercoloring with Distress Inks! I used the gorgeous new So Beautiful Background Stamp and added sympathy sentiments. The great thing about this background is that it can be used for any theme or occasion!

The So Beautiful Background Stamp was stamped on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The flowers were watercolored with Distress Inks and a water brush pen. The background was watercolored with Cracked Pistachio Re-inker and a water brush pen. I allowed the background to completely air dry before die cutting with a Basic Rectangles Die.
The panel was adhered to a side fold card base with foam adhesive.

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a trio of card featuring a Big Ampersand inlay with some of my favorite Simon Says Stamp stencils, dies, and stamps as well as my favorite Pinkfresh Studio Inks. Background stenciling with a text stamped overlay is the perfect backdrop for the Big Ampersand and sentiments.

Each background was created by inking Pinkfresh Studio Dye Inks through a Simon Says Stamp stencil and then stamping over the stenciled background with the You Are Background Stamp and white pigment ink.
The Big Ampersand "shadow" or "outline" die was die cut from the background. The Big Ampersand was die cut from the outline design.
The background was adhered to a white top fold card base and a white die cut Big Ampersand was inlaid into the design, as well as the inside pieces of the ampersand.
The Big Ampersand was die cut from Fun Foam and the remaining stenciled piece was adhered to the Fun Foam with liquid adhesive and adhered to the design as shown.
Sentiments from the Ampersand Words Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Pinkfresh Studio Inks, die cut with the coordinating dies, and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
Additional sentiments from the Ampersand Words Stamp Set were stamped on Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The phrases were die cut with a Nested Banners die and adhered to the card with foam adhesive strips.

Hello friends! The Cherry Blossom Branch from the Mama Elephant November 2019 Release is one of my favorites. I'm showcasing this brand new stamp and die set with the same design card but colored with three different mediums, featuring three different greetings for three different occasions. I love me a versatile stamp set and this one is incredible! I love that with the same basic design this card can be used for birthdays, sympathy, or thank you! And if you change up those greetings, they could be used for many more occasions! Let's get started!

All three of my cards today feature the same basic design: a beautifully colored cherry blossom branch with falling petals and flowers with a stamped and embossed sentiment.
For the background of my first card, I applied Hero Hues Pool Party Reactive Ink to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock with a blending brush. I created the ombre effect by concentrating the ink towards the bottom of the panel and lightening towards the top. Once the ink was dry I stamped two phrases from the Cherry Blossom Branch Stamp Set with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The branch, individual petals, and blooms from the Cherry Blossom Branch Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being colored with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:
Light Carmine
Pink Flamingo
Tea Rose
Light Green
Yellow Green,
Mid Brown
The colors were blended out with a water brush pen for a soft, easy watercolored effect.
Once dry the images were die cut with the coordinating Cherry Blossom Branch Dies and adhered to the card with foam adhesive. The panel was adhered to a white side fold card base and finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew.
For my third card, I stamped the Cherry Blossom Branch images on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Crunchy Leaf alcohol ink friendly ink. The light brown color of the outline is the perfect choice when using alcohol ink markers and keeps the outline soft and pretty and works great with the marker color choices.
The images were colored with the following Copic Markers: R000, R12, R14, YG17, YG21, E55, E57
The images were adhered to background with foam adhesive, the panel was adhered to a white side fold card base, and finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew.

Happy Friday, stamping friends! Today I'm sharing this Cherry Blossom Branch sympathy card featuring heat embossed images colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen. This technique is a go-to for me and a great way to color in florals. I love that this stamp set comes with greetings for thank you, encouragement, kindness, as well as sympathy. Sympathy cards are never my favorite to make in the moment so I always try to have a few on hand for when I need them. Let's get started!

Today I'm sharing this lovely floral sympathy card featuring eighteen of the brand new inks! The inks were used for the Lovely Blossoms images, Floral Vase, sentiments, and even the inked background! With this incredible ink release, there is a color for everything! In addition to full size ink pads, ink cubes are also available!
A soft and subtle background was created by inking Sky Blue ink in a rectangle on the background, concentrating the darkest color down near the bottom and gradually lightening towards the top of the panel.
The vase and florals were assembled and adhered to the background as shown.
A sentiment from the Floral Vase Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Summer Shower Ink. The greeting was die cut with the coordinating die and adhered to the card with foam adhesive. Additional greetings from the set were stamped with Licorice ink, trimmed into thin strips, and adhered to the design with foam adhesive.

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy sympathy card with Simon Says Stamp stamps and dies. Consider switching the sentiment to birthday, wedding, friendship, or other occasions if you're not in need of sympathy cards. I'm a big fan of card designs that can be used for many different occasions.
The front panel of the card was trimmed to 3 3/4" x 5" and die cut with the Daisy Square Die.
Picket Fence Distress Paint was watered down and splattered over the panels with a small paintbrush and allowed to air dry.
The daisy in the square was colored with Copic Markers in Y08, Y19, YR04, YG21, YG25, and YG17.
The front panel was backed with Lawn Fawn Acetate and the colored in Daisy Square was inlaid into the front panel as shown.
Greetings from the Clean Line Everyday were stamped below the Daisy Square with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The back of the panel was framed out with two layers of Scotch Foam Adhesive and the "shaker well" was filled with Pretty Pink Posh Confetti. The backer was put in place and the shaker was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.

Happy Thursday friends! The latest release from Simon Says Stamp, Believe In You, is now available! I created some clean and simple watercolor stripe backgrounds and layered the new Carnation Frame Die Cut and Sunflower Frame Die Cut over top before adding some inlay colored cardstock pieces, finishing with Glossy Accents for a faux stained glass look and adding stamped and embossed sentiments from the new Clean Line Everyday Stamp Set.
V I D E O T U T O R I A L
Watch the creation of these copic colored die cut flowers cards from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
For both backgrounds I masked off the edges of a piece of watercolor cardstock using post it tape and painted stripes of color on the background using the Altenew Watercolor Pan Set. Once the background was dry I splatted watered down Picket Fence Distress Paint over the background.
The masking tape was removed to reveal a border all the way around the design. The Carnation Frame Die Cut and Sunflower Frame Die Cut were each die cut three times and glued one on top of another to create dimensional frames.
Sentiments from the Clean Line Everyday Stamp Set were stamped on the backgrounds using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The frames were adhered to the center of each background as shown.
The panels were adhered to white top fold card bases and finished with either Bright Gold or Silver Lining Nuvo Crystal Drops for embellishment.

Hi there! Today I have four sympathy/thinking of you style cards featuring the new Cut & Emboss Folders. The embossed backgrounds create amazing elegant designs for so many different occasions. Two of the new folders are perfect for A2 sized cards (4 ¼” x 5 ½”) and two are perfect for 5” x 7” cards. A bit of inking to the embossed areas helps showcase the detail and a contrasting color of cardstock layered behind each panel clearly shows the die cut areas! Florals from the February 2019 Large Die of the Month Kit were used to adorn the designs, however you could use florals from any of your favorite Spellbinders die collections! Let’s get started with the designs.

The background was die cut from smooth white cardstock using the Sky Bursters Creative Cuts Die. Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink was used to add color to the edges and center of the design. I didn't take the ink all the way to the edge of the panel in order to help "highlight" the florals. The frame was adhered over the background with foam adhesive.
A sentiment from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with black ink, trimmed into a thin strip, and adhered over the florals with foam adhesive.
