Currently I am doing a Friday morning Lives at 9 am CT. Replays will be on my YouTube Channel.
I have a few requests to edit the Lives. Currently I am not going to edit them. This is for a couple of reasons:
1) Lives are new to me and we are going to stick with this format for a bit. I personally love Lives. I haven't watched an edited Live so I reserve the right to reconsider in the future if I think it's something I can fit in my schedule.
2) I don't want to spend the precious hours I have for creating new content, editing a Live. I will be bringing the exact same amount of traditional content and videos to my channel. Lives/replays are in addition to that content.
If you want to join us for some real-time crafty fun each week I would love to "see" you there. Please make sure to SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube Channel and click the notification bell so that YouTube alerts you when I'm going live. I am trying to reach 100,000 subscribers so if you haven't subscribed yet I would SO appreciate it! I am grateful for my community on all the platforms!
Thanks to everyone who joined me today! I had a blast visiting with everyone. ❤️

All three cards are the same basic design but feature different alcohol ink colors and greetings. I purposely created a rainbow effect with my three cards, even though a "rainbow" isn't featured on the individual designs. 🌈❤️
Tim Holtz Idea-ologyTypography Findings were used to create the greeting. I glued them in place with Glossy Accent and positioned them easily with a pair of craft tweezers.
A sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies 6x8 Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being trimmed into a strip and adhered to the design with foam adhesive.

Alcohol Link Ink and the Snowflake Builder Stamp Set were used on each background to "life" the ink from the backgrounds. The ink "lifts" from the regular alcohol ink rather easily. The metallic ink doesn't work as well but I was going for a more distressed background so that worked for my purposes on these cards. I recommend using a stamp positioner tool like the MISTI for perfect placement. This also helps in case you need to stamp more than once with the alcohol ink. I hold the lid of the MISTI in place for 30 seconds or so before lifting. I then dab at the stamped images gently to remove the excess Alcohol Lift Ink. Once the excess is removed I buff away the remaining ink to reveal the gorgeous "ghosted" images!
Pretty Pink Posh Peal White Jewels were adhered to the die cut snowflake centers as well as some of the stamped designs for an extra touch of sparkle.

While I used several combinations of Ranger Alcohol Inks to create multiple backgrounds in the video, I settled on my two favorites for the cards below. I used Alcohol Ink colors in Pool, Bottle, Turquoise, and Stream. The colors were placed in a glass dish of water and regular heavyweight Neenah cardstock were "dipped" into the inked mixture and set aside to completely air dry.
A whale and the swans from the Dream Seeker Stamp Setwere stamped on smooth white cardstock using a black ink for Copic Marker coloring. The images were colored with the following marker colors:
Swans: W00, W2, W5, R00, YR04
Whale: C00, C2, C5, C7, C8
The images were die cu with the coordinating dies.
For the whale card a sentiment, stars, and other celestial images were stamped on the dry alcohol ink backgrounds with clear embossing ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. The whale was adhered with foam adhesive squares. The Starry Night sequins were scattered throughout the design to finish the card.
For the swans card the Bright Days Embossing Folder was embossed on smooth white cardstock. The alcohol inked background was die cut with a Spellbinders Waves Border Die. The wave borders were adhered to the embossed background as shown. A sentiment from the Dream Seeker Stamp Set was stamped on the background with black ink.
The swans were adhered with foam adhesive and the Starry Night sequins were scattered throughout the design to finish the card.

Hello inky friends! Creating colorful thinking of you/sympathy style cards are one of my favorite ways to send sunshine to someone who is going through a tough time or who has lost a loved one. To balance out the color, I did some Alcohol Lift Ink stamping with a Beautiful Flowers 2 image and finished with a stacked die cut greeting and stamped and embossed sentiment strips on vellum. The Mini Flowers & Leaves were die cut from trimmed strips of the alcohol inked backgrounds in order to not waste any of the pretty paper!

I set aside the backgrounds to completely air dry. The drying process can be sped up with a heat tool, if you wish, as well. When I am creating alcohol inked backgrounds I prefer to made several at once while the supplies are out and my work surface is already messy!
The large floral image from the Beautiful Flowers 2 Stamp Set was placed in a MISTI, inked with Alcohol Lift Ink and stamped over the rainbow backgrounds. The ink was then blotted dry with a clean paper towel and finally buffed to reveal the lift image of the flowers!
I trimmed each background a bit differently to remove any area that wasn't stamped as nice as others. Each panel measures 4" x 5 1/4". I kept all the scraps to die cut later.
The Thinking of You Die was die cut three times each for every card, adhered one on top of another and glued to the backgrounds as shown.
Additional sentiments from the Moments of Grace Stamp Set were stamped on vellum with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being die cut with a Nested Banners Die. The vellum banners were run through a Xyron Sticker Maker and adhered over the background. I love that by using vellum, the beautiful backgrounds are still visible!
Mini Flowers & Leaves were die cut from the leftover alcohol pearl inked backgrounds and adhered to the design to a bit of embellishment. The center of the flowers were adorned with Pretty Pink Posh White Jewels.

Creative blocks can be a pain to work through. I tend to get them when I've been away from my supplies for several days but it can happen anytime. Nothing is worse than when you have time to create and you sit and stare at your supplies! Creative blocks happen to everyone and one of my favorite ways to get past them is to create a card based on another card. Most of the time I will make a card based on one of my past cards that I love. It's always a good way of working through a block. Another way is to create a card inspired by a friend or designer. Today I wanted to share a card created using a design that my friend, Jennifer McGuire, made awhile back (HERE). Please remember whenever you create a card lifted or inspired by another designer that you give credit to that designer and that you ask permission to share. :) I'm sharing a single design here today but if you want to see lots and lots of amazing alcohol lift ink designs, please be sure to check out Jennifer's blog post HERE. Thanks Jennifer!
