I'm continuing on my rainbow kick today with this faux watercolor grid stencil background card featuring the brand new Mama Elephant Cupcake Wishes images! I'm not a very proficient watercolor artist so anytime I can create a "faux" watercolor look I am all for it! The Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil and Lawn Fawn dye inks were used to create this fun background. The smallest Life Changing Blending Brushes worked great to apply the ink through the stencil for my background.

The Sweet Feline background Creative Cuts was die cut from smooth white cardstock. The scallop borders were masked off with post it tape and the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil was adhered over the top.
From left to right, the following Lawn Fawn Dye Inks were applied through the Grid Stencil with the smallest round Life Changing blending brushes:
Purples: Fresh Lavender, Juice Box
Pinks/Reds: Ballet Slippers, Plastic Flamingo, Lobster
Oranges: Peach Fuzz, Carrot
Greens: Minty Fresh, Celery Stick, Jalapeno
Blues: Mermaid, Moonstone, Forget-Me-Not
The cupcake wrappers from the Cupcake Wishes Stamp Set were stamped with Lawn Fawn Sunflower, Ballet Slippers, and Minty Fresh Inks. Polychromos colored pencils were used to add shading over the top of the dye inked images.
The rest of the Cupcake Wishes images for the card were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, cut out, and adhered to the design with foam adhesive. The bit of dimension helps the images stand out from the busy background. The cupcake stick was stamped and embossed with a greeting from the Cupcake Wishes Stamp set using clear embossing ink and white embossing powder.
A sentiment from the Birthday Messages Stamp Set was stamped with black ink on smooth white cardstock and cut with a Sweet Feline sentiment strip. The phrase was adhered with foam adhesive.
Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were applied to the top of the cupcakes for a "sugared" effect to complete the design.
